US: MSC Advises Shift to East and Gulf Coast Ports Amid Potential Dock Workers’ Strike

The world’s largest container shipper, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Co. SA, has advised customers to shift U.S. cargo operations to East and Gulf coast ports due to a potential dock workers’ strike. Talks between unions and employers are ongoing, with possible terminal closures on October 1. Delays and increased shipping costs are expected.
