Navigator Gas has partnered with Amon Maritime to create Navigator Amon Shipping, focusing on two ammonia-fuelled gas carriers. Navigator will hold an 80% stake. The vessels, with a capacity of 51,530m³, will also transport liquefied petroleum gas, emphasizing sustainable energy solutions in alignment with net-zero goals.
ABS has granted approval in principle (AIP) to Jiangnan Shipyard for two new developments. The first is an ultra large ethane carrier with the BrilliancE® II Type-B cargo containment system, enhancing performance and efficiency. The second AIP was for Jiangnan’s PnFCOMBi insulation system, suitable for low-temperature containment systems. ABS and Jiangnan aim to meet the growing demand for ethane carriers with innovative solutions.
Wärtsilä Gas Solutions introduces a groundbreaking Ammonia Fuel Supply System (AFSS) for ships, enabling the use of ammonia as a marine fuel. The system offers significant reductions in CO2, SOx, NOx, and PM emissions. The AFSS can be installed on newbuilds or retrofitted on existing vessels, providing a reliable and efficient fuel supply system.
