Power Failure on a Gas Tanker Caused by Improper Generator Settings
On March 15, 2025, the Gaschem Homer experienced a two-minute propulsion loss shortly after leaving the Port of Brisbane. This incident, caused by misconfigured electrical generators, resulted in a blackout while maneuvered by a harbour pilot. Fortunately, an assisting tug helped keep the vessel within the shipping channel until power was restored.
