V.Group has partnered with International Seaways to launch a female cadet program aimed at increasing inclusivity in the maritime workforce. Addressing the industry’s gender disparity, the initiative offers female cadets tailored facilities, workwear, and mentorship from senior officers, fostering a safer and more supportive environment at sea.
V., a ship manager and marine services provider, has secured full technical and crew management responsibilities for six LR1 vessels owned by International Seaways, Inc. These vessels, equipped with scrubbers and dual-fuel (LNG) readiness, demonstrate a commitment to sustainable shipping practices. This partnership strengthens V.’s existing relationship with INSW and showcases their expertise in managing advanced vessels.
Wärtsilä will supply EnergoFlow and EnergoProFin propulsion solutions to four medium-range tankers in the International Seaways fleet. This upgrade will result in an estimated five percent fuel savings and marks the first time Ice Class 1A FS vessels will be equipped with the EnergoFlow solution. The project aligns with International Seaways’ commitment to decarbonization and meeting CII requirements.
