Philippines Coast Guard Rescues Six After Tugboat Capsizes in Bulker Collision

The Philippines Coast Guard rescued six crewmembers and recovered two bodies, including the captain, after a bulker ran over a tugboat’s towline. The incident near Maasim, Sarangani Province, involved the Chinese-owned bulker Universe Kiza and the Philippine-registered tug Sadong 33. Charges are being prepared against the bulker’s master and crew.

Tanker Explosion and Fire in Indonesia Results in 5 Deaths, 15 Injuries

Indonesian authorities are currently investigating a tragic incident involving an interisland tanker, the Elisabet Satu, which caught fire and exploded off the coast of Tepekong near Bali. The incident resulted in the loss of five crewmembers, with three severely burned and 12 others sustaining lesser injuries out of the total 21 crewmembers on board.
