
Maersk Launches World’s First Methanol-Powered Container Ship for CO2-Neutral Shipping
The Danish shipping group Maersk christened the world’s first large container ship powered by methanol, Ane Maersk, at Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in South Korea. The ship, named in honor of Ane Mærsk Mc-Kinney Uggla, will be the first of 18 methanol-powered ships introduced by Maersk between 2024 and 2025.
