Keihin Dock, a subsidiary of NYK Group, has partnered with Oceanic Constellations to develop a mass-production system for small unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). This collaboration aims to enhance ocean monitoring in Japan by deploying multiple USVs equipped with advanced sensors, addressing marine challenges and promoting innovative environmental solutions.
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) imposed $230,100 in fines and issued three stop-work orders after conducting 514 site inspections from April to June. These inspections revealed 1,263 unsafe conditions, including unguarded machinery and faulty forklifts, highlighting significant safety concerns in the construction, manufacturing, and marine sectors.
Indian government is set to unveil a maritime development fund to support shipbuilding firms in the upcoming Budget, aiming to boost the industry’s self-reliance. The proposed fund, estimated at Rs 15,000-20,000 crore over seven years, will provide affordable loans to shipbuilders. Additionally, a green ship scheme promoting hydrogen-based vessels to reduce pollution is also expected to be announced.
