Tug Grounding Highlights Lack of Effective Planning
An ATSB investigation into the grounding of the tug Sea Pelican in Port Adelaide on June 10, 2025, revealed insufficient planning and risk controls as key factors. The tug struck a sandbar while maneuvering with the barge Rocksea, damaging its hull but fortunately resulting in no injuries. Maritime Constructions has since updated its safety protocols.
