Ship Manager fined for illegal oily waste discharge and falsifying records
Gremex Shipping S.A. de C.V., a Mexican ship management company, was caught providing false records to the U.S. Coast Guard to conceal illegal discharge of oily bilge waste from the cement carrier Suhar. The company was fined $1.75 million, placed on probation, and required to develop an environmental compliance plan.
