Philippine Coast Guard Successfully Contains Oil Spill from Sunken Tanker Terra Nova

The Philippine Coast Guard has successfully contained pollution from the sunken tanker Terra Nova, which leaked oil into the bay during Typhoon Gaemi. By capping valves and preparing for siphoning, they have reduced the spill area coverage. With plans to enhance containment measures and begin siphoning, the PCG aims to refloat the vessel in two weeks with assistance from the US Coast Guard and NOAA.
