Newly Discovered Seamounts Unveiled by Independent Researchers
Scientists aboard the Schmidt Ocean Institute’s (SOI) research vessel Falkor (too) have discovered four underwater mountains off the west coast of South and Central America. Ranging in size from 1,591 to 2,681 meters, these seamounts advance the understanding of the vast water bodies and host deep-sea coral reefs and other organisms.
