India Urges IMO Action on Ship Safety and Calls for Stricter Hazardous Cargo Protocols
India’s Shipping Secretary TK Ramachandran has called for a comprehensive review of maritime incidents involving foreign-flagged container vessels, particularly those linked to undeclared hazardous cargoes. At the IMO session, he emphasized the need for improved safety protocols and investigation of incidents like MSC ELSA 3 to enhance global maritime standards.
