E-Dolphin, a marine electrification startup, is making headlines with its innovative electric watercraft, the S300, which boasts 160 horsepower and speeds exceeding 55 mph. The sleek design features nostalgic neon accents, while the vessel supports DC fast charging, allowing for quick recharges. Founder Nicolas Florès was inspired to create this eco-friendly alternative after witnessing pollution’s impact on local dolphins in southern France.
The S300’s development began in 2018, leveraging Florès’s experience in the EV industry. E-Dolphin patented its custom powertrain in 2020, leading to the launch of the S300, which is now available for pre-order. The watercraft combines modern technology with a lightweight carbon fiber hull and an ergonomic design, promising a lifespan double that of traditional models.
Equipped with a 30 kWh battery, the S300 can operate for up to two hours on a single charge and offers impressive charging capabilities, including ultra-fast options that replenish the battery in under 30 minutes. Pre-orders are open with a €1,000 deposit, and the full price is set at €39,990 plus VAT, with deliveries expected to start in Europe by Q3 2025. E-Dolphin aims to produce 1,000 units annually, expanding to North America and Asia in the future.
