Anglo-Eastern and Windcat, in partnership with CMB.TECH, are set to manage Windcat’s groundbreaking fleet of dual-fuel hydrogen-powered Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs). This collaboration is part of Anglo-Eastern’s efforts to enhance its technical consulting services and fleet management capabilities in the offshore industry. The agreement involves overseeing the construction of six CSOVs at Damen Shipyards’ Ha Long Shipyard in Vietnam for Windcat Offshore, a new business unit focusing on offshore energy commissioning and services.
Windcat initially ordered two CSOVs with options for more, with Anglo-Eastern Technical Services supervising the construction process. The vessels will be equipped with dual-fuel hydrogen engines to reduce emissions, aligning with CMB.TECH’s commitment to decarbonizing the shipping industry. The first CSOV is expected to begin operations in 2025, offering maintenance support and accommodations for technicians within offshore wind farms for up to 30 days.
By partnering with Anglo-Eastern, Windcat aims to lead the offshore industry with innovative and sustainable solutions. The CSOVs will feature advanced technology, including motion-compensated cranes and connectivity systems for personnel living onboard. With a shared vision for a greener future, both companies are dedicated to advancing the maritime industry towards sustainability through cutting-edge clean energy technology.
