The International Maritime Academy recently celebrated the graduation of its twelfth batch of pre-sea cadets, showcasing its dedication to maritime training in Bangladesh’s private sector. The ceremony in Gazipur honored 78 cadets from the Nautical and Engineering divisions, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to excellence in maritime education. With notable figures in attendance, including the Senior Shipping Secretary and the Director General of the Department of Shipping, the event featured a ceremonial march past, oath-taking ceremony, and the presentation of medals, with one cadet receiving the Gold Medal for outstanding performance.

Established as the first permanent private sector maritime training institution in Bangladesh, the International Maritime Academy has successfully graduated numerous cadet and ratings batches, contributing to the growth and development of the maritime industry in the country. With a curriculum endorsed by the Department of Shipping and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, the academy prepares its students for careers in the global maritime industry, ensuring they are skilled and competitive.
