Boluda Towage, a division of Boluda Corporacion Maritima, has expanded its services by acquiring the towing operations of Resolve Salvage and Fire (Gibraltar). This move strengthens the company’s strategic presence in the critical Strait of Gibraltar, which sees over 100,000 ships pass through annually. The acquisition adds four tugboats to Boluda’s fleet and increases its service capacity in the region.
The Strait of Gibraltar is a key area for maritime transport, with high navigation density and challenging weather conditions. Boluda Towage has been operating in the region for many years and sees the acquisition as an opportunity to enhance its intervention capacity. The company’s expansion in Gibraltar is part of its broader growth strategy, which includes recent operations in Egypt and Costa Rica.
Boluda Corporacion Maritima, a family-owned company with a history dating back to 1920, has been a leader in consolidating the towage industry. In recent years, it has acquired several towage companies, expanding its fleet to over 600 tugboats operating in 50 countries and serving 148 ports. This latest acquisition further solidifies Boluda’s position as a key player in the global towage industry.
