The Carnival Dream cruise ship encountered severe weather on its return to Galveston at the end of a 14-night sailing, resulting in guests and crew members being confined to their staterooms for about an hour. The poor weather also led to the cancellation of a loyalty event and some entertainment options, but the ship returned to its homeport safely. The ship experienced localized flooding and some minor damages, but no significant damage was reported.
The severe weather occurred in the Gulf of Mexico, prompting the ship to take precautionary measures by asking guests and crew members to return to their staterooms. As a result, a popular loyalty event, the Diamond and Platinum Party, was cancelled, and some evening entertainment was also affected. However, to make up for the cancellation of the loyalty event, Diamond and Platinum guests were given a $25 onboard credit.
Despite the adverse weather conditions, the ship was able to return to Galveston as scheduled. The Carnival Dream is a popular cruise ship that can accommodate thousands of guests and offers various itineraries, with its next 14-day voyage scheduled for mid-October.
