The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) showcased its achievements at the Republic Day parade, highlighting the progress made in the maritime sector through the Sagarmala Program. The tableaux represented the vision of Port-led development and emphasized the significant strides made under the leadership of PM Modi.
The tableaux showcased the increase in the number of women seafarers, symbolizing “Nari Shakti Driving the Blue Economy,” and highlighted achievements in port efficiency and capacity augmentation. It also introduced the ‘AmritKaal Vision 2047’ initiative, aiming to develop industrial clusters around ports and stimulate economic growth. Additionally, the Ministry’s endeavors in lighthouse and cruise tourism development were highlighted, aligning with the Government of India’s tourism schemes.
The visions of “Maritime India Vision 2030” and “Maritime AmritKaal Vision 2047” collectively embody India’s commitment to steering its maritime sector toward a future marked by dynamism, sustainability, and global excellence. These visions articulate a narrative of progress, innovation, and responsible stewardship, defining India’s role as a maritime powerhouse on the global stage. Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister, MoPSW, emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to increasing the strength of ‘Nari Shakti’ in the Maritime sector and contributing to the nation’s growth and prosperity.
