Carnival Cruise Line has opened future departures for its newest ship, the Carnival Venezia, which will embark on a series of departures in winter 2024-25, before returning to New York in 2025. The ship will carry its first passengers on a 15-day transatlantic cruise from Barcelona on May 29, 2023, before heading to New York City’s Manhattan Cruise Terminal. The cruise line is aiming to offer a new “Carnival Fun Italian Style” experience, influenced by the Venezia’s Italian architecture, featuring a range of fun concepts and experiences, and new food and beverage offerings, such as a specialty restaurant called “Il Viaggio”.

The ship will depart from Port Canaveral, Florida, in December 2024, taking on board its first guests before embarking on a four-day Bahamas cruise. It will then operate 15 seven-day cruises, with destinations alternating, and two special 14-day “Carnival Journeys” cruises. After its seasonal stint in Florida, the ship will return to New York in spring 2025. The Carnival Venezia has capacity for 5,000 passengers and will showcase popular Carnival festivals such as Guy’s Burger Joint and Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse. The ship will also add new food and beverage offerings, such as regional dishes and beverages from Italy. The Venezia will offer high-energy entertainment, including multiple Playlist Production shows and dedicated programmes for children and families.
