CSSC Chengxi Shipyard has entered into a shipbuilding contract with Chinese financial company CITIC Leasing for ten multi-purpose vessels.
The ten 84,500-ton multi-purpose vessels are designed to transport paper pulp, containers, new energy cars and other types of cargo.
In 2021 and 2022, Chengxi Shipyard had built four 62,000-ton multi-purpose heavy lift vessels, which were the largest multi-purpose vessels at the time.
To date this year, Chengxi has received new newbuilding orders for 13 vessels and has already met the order target for the full year, including two 82,600-ton bulk carriers, ten 84,500-ton multipurpose vessels and a 17,000-ton asphalt tanker.
