Corsica Linea has signed a 10-year contract with Wärtsilä for the optimal maintenance and performance of energy systems on board its liquefied natural gas-powered vessel, A Galeotta. The scope of the agreement includes maintenance of the main and auxiliary engines, the LNGPac fuel gas handling system, and gas valve assemblies, with maintenance being done according to data-driven dynamic maintenance planning principles. Wärtsilä will provide remote operational support and its predictive maintenance service, Expert Insight, to detect and manage any anomalies. The agreement also includes guaranteed availability of field service support during major engine overhauls.
The A Galeotta will operate between Marseille and Corsica in France, and is fitted with two Wärtsilä 50DF dual-fuel main engines and two 20DF dual-fuel auxiliary engines. The vessel entered commercial service in January 2023. The agreement with Wärtsilä, which maximizes uptime, optimizes performance, and reduces carbon footprint, is part of the company’s lifecycle support approach.
