A new 50-metre air-conditioned vessel has been launched in Kochi, India, which meets Indian Register of Shipping safety standards and is capable of carrying up to 150 passengers. The ship will be deployed in the backwaters off Marine Drive and is one of the few tourist ships in Kochi that can operate well beyond Fort Kochi, going several kilometers out to sea. Nishijit John, the managing director of Neo Classic Cruises and Tours, which owns the ship and operates five other tourist boats in the area, stated that the vessel was built over a three-year period on a leased land from the Cochin Port Authority in Vallarpadam.

With the increasing number of sea vessels operating from Kochi, the number of boat jetties on Marine Drive has also grown. This new vessel will add to the options for tourists wanting to explore the backwaters of Kochi and beyond. The professional and journalistic writing style and tone of the content provide factual and relevant information about the new vessel and its significance in the tourism industry in Kochi.
