COO Tissa Wickramasinghe praised the achievement, highlighting the port’s six-year operational history and its strategic decision to become a regional hub for RORO cargo.
HIPG expanded its customer base by attracting Japanese shipping lines and implementing dedicated global trend tracking and investment in equipment and technology to attract volumes to the port. HIP also focused on ensuring the quality and safety of its operations, achieving ISO QHSE certification and making significant investments in expanding the farm area, installing modern equipment, and providing training for operating staff. The COO emphasized that this achievement was the result of a collaborative effort by Team HIP and the support of their customer base.
