Idwal, a company specializing in vessel inspection and grading services, is expanding into Asia with the establishment of a regional headquarters in Singapore. The decision to choose Singapore was based on its reputation as an international maritime center and its strategic location at the crossroads of major shipping routes. This expansion is driven by the strong demand for Idwal’s services in the region.

To support its operations in Singapore, Idwal has appointed Bobby Lee as Commercial Manager and Thom Herbert as Senior Marine Surveyor. Lee will be responsible for managing commercial aspects, while Herbert will be relocating from the company’s headquarters in Cardiff to provide expertise on the ground. Over the next 18 months, Idwal plans to add more roles in areas such as commercial, technical, operational, and data analytics.

CEO Nick Owen’s emphasized the importance of Asia in Idwal’s mission to bring transparency to global shipping. The Singapore hub will enable the company to provide unmatched service levels to Asian owners and operators, further solidifying the Idwal Grade as the trusted standard for vessel condition in this rapidly growing market.
