The Indian Coast Guard Ship Ayush successfully rescued a distressed fishing boat, the IFB Ganapathi Perumal, along with its 10 crew members. The boat had been drifting since September 1 due to machinery breakdown and technical issues. After a coordinated search effort by the Coast Guard, the boat was located about 83 miles east of the Visakhapatnam coast. The Merchant vessel MV Jag Radha was asked to monitor the boat until the Coast Guard Ship arrived. The ICGS Ayush provided necessary assistance and towed the boat to the nearest port in Visakhapatnam, where it was handed over to the Fisheries Department.
