CM Technologies (CMT) has introduced a new fuel injection acoustic emission sensor to its PREMET X range of diesel engine performance indicators. This sensor allows engineers to monitor the acoustic signature of a diesel engine’s fuel injection system, enabling them to detect any issues with fuel injectors, nozzles, and pumps. According to Matthias Winkler, Managing Director of CMT, fuel atomization and injection timing are crucial factors in the combustion process, directly impacting fuel consumption and carbon emissions. By monitoring fuel injection frequencies in the 300kHz to 700kHz range, engineers can gain valuable insights into potential problems with fuel injection and combustion.

Failure to detect issues with fuel atomization can result in excess fuel consumption, after burning, or critical component damage. To address this, CMT has developed the PREMET X Fuel Injection Acoustic Emissions Sensor to prevent such issues. This sensor is available as an option with CMT’s PREMET X diesel performance monitoring system, providing a comprehensive solution for monitoring and optimizing diesel engine performance.

Engineers can now leverage CMT’s Fuel Injection (Acoustic Emission) Sensor to enhance the efficiency and reliability of diesel engines. By incorporating this sensor into the PREMET X system, users can proactively identify and address potential fuel injection problems, ultimately improving fuel consumption and reducing carbon emissions.
