The ‘Port of Prosperity’ event celebrated JNPA’s achievements in the Indian shipping industry. Since its establishment in 1989, JNPA has grown to become India’s largest container port, recently achieving a record throughput of 6.43 million TEUs in FY 2023-24. The port’s strategic initiatives in digitization, automation, and sustainability have set new benchmarks, ensuring inclusive growth and environmental conservation.
The event featured the lighting of the lamp, launch of a special cover and corporate brand, and release of a commemorative Coffee Table Book. Two MOUs worth Rs 40,000 Crore were signed for the development of a Greenfield Port at Vadhvan. The Governor congratulated shareholders and employees of JNPA for their contribution to the port’s success.
Chairman Unmesh Sharad Wagh highlighted JNPA’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustainability, as they aim to expand their capacity to 10.4 million TEUs with the upcoming BMCT terminal. The event concluded with networking opportunities and a shared vision of a prosperous future, as JNPA remains committed to promoting economic prosperity in India.
