Mitsui O.S.K. Lines recently announced that several vessels managed by the MOL Group have been commended by the Commandant of the Japan Coast Guard and the Commander of the JCG 3rd Regional Coast Guard Headquarters. The vessels recognized include tankers such as AZUMASAN, EAGLE TRADER, KAZUSA, and M. STAR, as well as dry bulkers like SHINZAN MARU. Additionally, vessels commended by the 3rd Regional Coast Guard Headquarters include dry bulkers REIHOU and WARRAMBOO, containership ONE MARVEL, tankers HIKOSAN and MAYASAN, and LPG carrier WHITE CLIFFS.
The commendations were presented in honor of Japan Hydrography Day, recognizing individuals and organizations that have contributed to marine information services. Merchant vessels play a crucial role in providing marine information, including observation data on seawater temperature, ocean currents, and ship positions. This information is collected by the JCG Hydrographic and Oceanographic Department to enhance navigation-related information for vessels calling at ports in Japan, ultimately improving the safety of the maritime industry. The MOL Group has been actively providing data to support these efforts in addition to its regular operational activities.
MOL Group remains committed to providing marine information and ensuring safe ocean transport and environmental conservation. By taking a comprehensive approach and contributing to the maritime industry in a sustainable manner, the company continues to support the efforts of the Japan Coast Guard in maintaining maritime safety and security.
