The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the design and development of electric patrol craft. This initiative is part of the MPA’s efforts to decarbonize and digitalize maritime operations. The designs for the electric patrol craft must meet MPA’s operational requirements and include safety features such as advanced battery management systems, secure battery compartments, and intelligent cooling systems for optimal thermal management. Proposals must also offer efficient charging and battery replacement solutions to support extended operations.
In addition to safety features, the electric patrol craft designs must integrate autonomous and digital capabilities. This includes remote operation from shore-based control centers and advanced collision detection systems. Lightweight construction is also a key requirement to ensure the vessels’ operational performance while maintaining stability, seaworthiness, and energy efficiency. Interested parties can find further details and submission guidelines on the MPA website. The deadline for proposals is December 14, 2024, at 2359 hrs (Singapore time).
