Finnish renewable fuel producer Neste has partnered with ScanOcean to introduce its lower-emission marine fuel to the Swedish market. The initial shipment of Neste Marine 0.1 Co-processed fuel, which contains both fossil and renewable content, is now available at the Södertälje terminal for bunkering of vessels in the Stockholm area and those in transit to Lake Mälaren. This fuel offers up to 80% lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional fossil fuels throughout its life cycle. It is ISO 8217 compliant and ISCC PLUS certified.
The collaboration between Neste and ScanOcean supports the marine industry’s efforts to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and transition towards more sustainable shipping practices. This offering aims to help shipping companies, cargo owners, and charterers in Sweden make positive environmental changes.
The Neste Marine 0.1 Co-processed fuel is also available in Denmark and Finland, and it has a composition and performance similar to conventional options, making it a convenient choice for the industry. The partnership between Neste and ScanOcean is part of ScanOcean’s journey to establish a portfolio of sustainable products and services for the maritime sector.
