BEML Ltd., a government-owned company formerly known as Bharat Earth Movers Ltd., has entered into an agreement with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders to collaborate on developing technologies for the marine industry. Under the agreement, Mazagon Docks will provide facilities for BEML’s research team to develop, test, and validate innovative technologies and systems. In return, BEML will offer technical support to design and manufacture strategic equipment specifically tailored for marine applications.

The partnership between BEML and Mazagon Dock is focused on driving innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions in line with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision to enhance the country’s maritime capabilities. BEML plans to utilize this collaboration to develop solutions for futuristic marine applications and expand its expertise in the marine sector. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders specializes in constructing warships, submarines for the Indian Navy, ships for the Indian Coast Guard, and other maritime platforms for commercial use.

BEML, operating under the Ministry of Defence, works in three key business segments: construction and mining, railway and metro, and defence and aerospace. This collaboration with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders reflects BEML’s commitment to advancing technology and expertise in the marine industry.
