The official opening of the Chu Lai–India international sea route, coupled with the completion of dredging the Ky Ha marine fairway in Quang Nam province, positions Truong Hai International Logistics LLC (THILOGI) as a significant player in international maritime trade. This development enhances logistics infrastructure in Central Vietnam, enabling direct exports to South Asian markets while decreasing costs and transit times for businesses.
After extensive work by THILOGI, the project has successfully upgraded the Ky Ha marine fairway to a depth of 9.3 meters, facilitating access for vessels up to 30,000 DWT. This milestone resolves longstanding bottlenecks affecting maritime operations in the Chu Lai area. Phan Van Ky, Director of Chu Lai International Port, highlighted its potential to serve as a major logistics hub for Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands.
On May 16, THILOGI partnered with Regional Container Lines (RCL) to inaugurate the shipping route to India, welcoming the Singapore-flagged vessel Chana Bhum, which transported nearly 800 containers of various goods. This route, operating twice monthly, strengthens trade ties with India, Vietnam’s largest trading partner in South Asia, and opens avenues for regional exports, benefitting businesses and agricultural production in Vietnam and neighboring countries.
