DP World reported a 17% increase in cargo handling at its International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) in Cochin in 2024 compared to the previous year. The terminal achieved a record high volume of 840,564 TEUs, thanks to the introduction of new equipment such as ship-to-shore cranes and e-RTGs, as well as an expansion of yard space. These enhancements have increased the terminal’s capacity to around 1.4 million TEUs annually, solidifying its position as one of the largest terminals in South and East India.

The electrification of yard equipment at DP World Cochin has also contributed to a reduced carbon footprint in cargo movement, providing customers with a competitive advantage in sustainability within their supply chain. In 2024, the terminal handled approximately 657 vessel calls and successfully executed its largest-ever single vessel exchange of 6,157 TEUs with the MSC Aurora. These milestones highlight the terminal’s efficiency and growth in the maritime industry.

This significant growth and success at DP World Cochin in 2024 are detailed in a statement, emphasizing the terminal’s commitment to providing top-tier services and maintaining a strong presence in the industry. The terminal’s accomplishments are a testament to its dedication to efficiency, sustainability, and excellence in cargo handling.
