Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) in Kandla has received the esteemed ‘Maritime Excellence Achievers Awards’ in two categories: “Driving Maritime Innovation” and “Port Sustainability Pioneer” during the India Maritime Week 2025 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The awards were presented by Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, with Shantanu Thakur, Minister of State (PSW), also in attendance.

This recognition underscores DPA’s commitment to technological advancement, port modernization, and sustainability within the maritime sector. Under the guidance of its Chairman, DPA has undertaken several pioneering initiatives, including the launch of India’s first megawatt-scale Green Hydrogen Plant, the introduction of electric green tugs, and hydrogen fuel cell buses—part of a vision aligned with Viksit Bharat 2047 and the National Green Hydrogen Mission.

Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, port users, trade unions, employees, and the workforce for their invaluable support in reaching these accomplishments. He emphasized that this award signifies the collective effort and teamwork propelling Deendayal Port Authority toward becoming a ‘Port of the Future,’ crucial for India’s maritime evolution.
