Global Ministers to Convene at India Maritime Week in Mumbai

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to inaugurate the India Maritime Week 2025 on October 27 at NESCO Grounds in Mumbai. This five-day event, running until October 31, is expected to be the largest maritime gathering globally, attracting ministers from 11 countries along with their industry delegations. The event highlights the increasing international interest in India’s maritime sector.

Hosted by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, the theme for IMW 2025 is “Uniting Oceans, One Maritime Vision.” It aims to position India as a global maritime hub and a leader in the Blue Economy. Chief Ministers from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, and Odisha will also be in attendance, underscoring the collaborative effort to promote sustainable shipping and enhance maritime trade.

The event anticipates participation from over 100,000 delegates and representatives from more than 85 countries, including global maritime industry leaders and policy think tanks. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address attendees on October 29 and will chair a high-level global CEO forum featuring top executives from leading maritime companies.

With over 350 international speakers and more than 600 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) expected to be signed, IMW 2025 will also feature a comprehensive exhibition with over 400 exhibitors and numerous flagship events, including the Global Maritime India Summit and various country and state sessions.
