Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) has unveiled the last two Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs) — ICGS Ajit and ICGS Aparajit — for the Indian Coast Guard, completing an eight-vessel series under its patrol vessel programme. Each vessel weighs approximately 320 tonnes and boasts over 65% indigenous components, emphasizing GSL’s commitment to self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
GSL has demonstrated remarkable efficiency, launching 12 vessels since July 2024, averaging one ship every 40 days. This impressive production rate underlines the shipyard’s growth and operational capabilities.
Looking forward, GSL aims to broaden its portfolio by introducing a dredger for a Belgian client and a floating dry dock for a foreign navy, along with a next-generation patrol vessel in the current financial year.
The company’s strong performance is reflected in its financial growth, with gross revenue soaring from ₹865 crore in 2021–22 to ₹3,190 crore in 2024–25, showcasing its expanding footprint in both domestic and international shipbuilding markets.
