The Shipping Ministry reported no incidents involving Indian ships or seafarers in the past 24 hours. Currently, 20 Indian-flagged vessels with around 540 Indian seafarers are safely operating in the Persian Gulf, with private shipping companies ensuring steady communication. Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Special Secretary of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, noted that about 200 phone calls and 500 emails were received from concerned parties, with responses being issued. During this timeframe, 50 Indian seafarers have been repatriated.

Sinha confirmed that port operations throughout the country remain normal, with no congestion reported. He discussed recent initiatives at major ports, including Jawaharlal Nehru Port and Kandla Port, and highlighted measures at non-major ports. Specifically, Mundra Port has announced an extension of free storage for Middle East-bound export containers to 15 days and an 80% reduction in reefer plug-in charges, alongside waived lift-on and lift-off fees.
