The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) and the Indian Ports Association (IPA), backed by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MOPSW), organized the “Green and Digital Maritime Corridor” event in Mumbai. The gathering brought together prominent maritime leaders and stakeholders from India and abroad.
In a video message, Minister Sarbananda Sonowal highlighted the enhanced bilateral relations between India and Singapore under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing the significance of green and digital pathways in transforming global trade. Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, discussed the state’s maritime roadmap targeting milestones for 2029, 2035, and 2047.
Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister, Gan Kim Yong, praised the enduring 60-year partnership with India, particularly in green shipping and renewable energy. Minister Jeffrey Siow stressed that the upcoming Green & Digital Shipping Corridor declaration will strengthen cooperation in technology and sustainability.
Secretary TK Ramacandran noted the importance of international corridors for enhancing trade and regional integration, mentioning the India-Singapore corridor’s focus on clean energy and digital innovation. The day featured discussions on maritime reforms and sustainable economic corridors, setting the stage for the Indian Maritime Week 2025, scheduled for October 27-31.
