The Indian Ports Association (IPA) has called upon seasoned professionals nationwide to join a national panel of experts and consultants. This initiative aims to assist major ports and the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) with high-level technical and strategic projects. An Expression of Interest (EoI) issued on January 1, 2026, invites applications for empanelment at its Centre of Excellence (CoE) from qualified individuals under the age of 70, who possess at least a graduate degree and relevant documented expertise.
The empanelment will establish a pool of pre-qualified experts available for hire by major ports and the IPA, facilitating short-term engagements rather than filling permanent positions. Each engagement will be capped at six months within any financial year, as specified in the EoI.
IPA has delineated 15 broad areas of expertise, each with five sub-categories, covering aspects from hard infrastructure to digital systems and cruise tourism. Applicants can select multiple areas and sub-categories through an online application on the CoE portal, with a submission deadline of February 16, 2026.
Selection into the panel is at the discretion of IPA and its Executive Committee, based on qualifications and experience. However, empanelment does not guarantee assignments or payment. When hired, experts will receive consolidated daily or monthly compensation based on experience, with rates ranging from Rs 8,000 to Rs 15,000 per day, depending on years of service.
