Navi Mumbai is witnessing the development of its first international marina in Belapur Sector 15, a project poised to enhance marine tourism and create new economic prospects. The initiative, led by the Maharashtra Maritime Board and Navi Mumbai International Marina Pvt. Ltd., has received all necessary approvals, and construction is now underway.
A senior official from the Maritime Board confirmed that the construction of the Navi Mumbai International Marina is progressing, emphasizing its potential to significantly boost marine tourism in the region. As part of the Chief Minister’s progressive initiatives, this marina aims to increase tourist traffic, positioning Navi Mumbai as a notable destination on Maharashtra’s tourism map.
The marina will feature cutting-edge infrastructure and modern amenities, including dedicated areas for water sports and recreational activities, catering to international-level athletes. Officials have indicated that this project will contribute to the blue economy by generating employment and entrepreneurial opportunities within the marine sector, particularly benefiting local youth.
Experts suggest that the marina will not only enhance Navi Mumbai’s identity as a center for marine sports and commerce but will also establish the city as a significant player in the global tourism and maritime industries.
