The Port of Antwerp-Bruges is embarking on a strategic roadshow in India from November 18 to 22, with stops in key cities like New Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai. This initiative aims to strengthen the port’s ties with India, a crucial trading partner and rapidly growing economy. The delegation, led by Vice President Luc Arnouts, will engage with industry leaders, visit major Indian companies, and participate in discussions and networking events to explore collaboration opportunities in essential sectors for both regions.

India holds significance for the Port of Antwerp-Bruges as one of Europe’s largest ports, viewing India as the “factory of the world.” With Indian volumes through the port increasing by over 10% this year, diversifying suppliers has become a strategic priority, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The roadshow will focus on engaging with Indian energy giants to bolster relationships and establish the port as a key gateway for India’s green energy exports to Europe.

The Port of Antwerp-Bruges has a longstanding relationship with India since 2006 when it established a representation office in Mumbai. Through initiatives like the JNPT-Antwerp Port Training and Consultancy Foundation and collaborations with Indian organizations, the port has built strong networks and provided specialized port training courses. The roadshow also features a delegation of companies from the port community, showcasing their expertise across various sectors and emphasizing the port’s commitment to fostering economic ties and innovation with India.
