AET, a prominent owner and operator of maritime transportation assets and services, has partnered with the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) to enhance Singapore’s maritime talent pool. Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), AET will sponsor four scholarships and two internships annually from 2025 to 2027. The scholarships and internships will be administered by SMF, with both organizations collaborating on candidate selection. This initiative is part of SMF’s MaritimeONE programs, which aim to connect scholars with industry mentors and provide students with valuable exposure to the maritime sector.

Singapore, a key global maritime hub, continues to lead in innovation and progress within the industry, particularly in areas like technology and sustainability. The evolving landscape necessitates a skilled workforce capable of adapting to alternative fuels and advanced technologies. The MoU between AET and SMF seeks to cultivate the next generation of maritime talent by offering relevant training and practical experience to prepare them for the industry’s changing demands.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Zahid Osman, President & CEO of AET, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting the future of the maritime sector through collaborations like the one with SMF. AET’s involvement in SMF’s MaritimeONE program for five years underscores their dedication to education and youth development.
