DetentionTrackr has launched a new maritime intelligence platform that consolidates global Port State Control (PSC) detention data into real-time, actionable insights. This innovation aims to enhance efficiency and strategic decision-making within the maritime industry. In February alone, 72 vessels were detained, contributing to a total of 164 detentions recorded globally since the start of 2026. Despite ongoing enforcement efforts, detention information remains scattered across various regional authorities.
According to Co-Founder Thomas Cox, DetentionTrackr offers a comprehensive AI-driven perspective on active vessel detentions, supplemented with detailed ownership and management data. This platform marks a significant advancement in maritime intelligence, fundamentally changing how the industry interprets and reacts to detention incidents. The system aggregates live detention data and enriches reports with vessel profiles, inspection histories, ownership structures, and risk contexts.
Active detentions are monitored hourly, while resolved cases are archived for contextual benchmarking and fleet analysis. The platform caters to various stakeholders, including ship managers, charterers, P&I clubs, technical suppliers, maritime service providers, port agents, and riding squads, all of whom can benefit from improved visibility and risk assessment.
Co-Founder David Holly emphasized that while PSC data is public, it is often operationally fragmented. DetentionTrackr aims to convert these dispersed inspection records into structured, actionable intelligence, enabling maritime professionals to make quicker, more informed decisions. The platform is now available for commercial subscription.
