Amogy, a company specializing in ammonia-to-power technology, has secured a multi-year contract with Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) to manufacture its systems. SHI will establish a dedicated facility in South Korea to produce and test these systems, starting with those needed for Amogy’s pilot project in Pohang, set for 2026. This initiative aims to validate the technology’s maturity and economic feasibility for clean power generation.
This partnership builds on the existing collaboration between Amogy and SHI, which began with SHI’s strategic investment in Amogy in December 2024. Together, they will optimize Amogy’s ammonia-to-power modules for both land and maritime applications.
Amogy’s innovative technology efficiently converts ammonia into hydrogen on-site using advanced catalysts, enabling zero-carbon power generation through fuel cells or engines. Its modular design allows for scalability and adaptability.
Additionally, SHI plans to develop testing methods, establish protocols, and create manufacturing equipment and supply chains. By the end of 2025, SHI will expand its ammonia demonstration facility at the Geoje Shipyard for the production and testing of Amogy’s systems.
