Anglo-Eastern Ship Management has partnered with Orca AI to implement its innovative maritime operations platform across its fleet. This collaboration is significant as it marks the first formal commitment by a major ship management firm to adopt AI-driven situational awareness technologies, reflecting the increasing demand for such advancements in the maritime sector.
As part of the agreement, Anglo-Eastern will integrate Orca AI’s technology into its services, emphasizing its dedication to innovation, safety, and operational excellence. Key components of the Orca AI platform include the SeaPod digital watchkeeper, which enhances situational awareness in congested or low-visibility waters, and FleetView, a shoreside monitoring tool that provides actionable insights for onshore teams.
Torbjorn Dimblad, CIO of Anglo-Eastern, highlighted the importance of safety, noting that the Orca AI platform offers crucial support during critical navigation scenarios. The partnership aims to enhance safety and operational efficiency while also focusing on crew upskilling and nurturing young talent in the industry.
Based in Hong Kong, Anglo-Eastern is a leading independent ship manager, overseeing over 750 vessels. This partnership with Orca AI marks a strategic move to broaden its client base and enhance navigational safety, fuel efficiency, and emission reductions across managed fleets.
