BIMCO and WISTA International (Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association) have formalized their partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing workforce sustainability and promoting gender inclusivity within the global maritime sector. The agreement was finalized during the Maritime Cyprus event, with BIMCO’s Secretary General and CEO David Loosley and WISTA International President Elpi Petraki in attendance.

This collaboration emphasizes the commitment of both organizations to foster safe, equitable, and inclusive working environments as the maritime industry evolves through advancements in fuels, automation, and digital technologies. Loosley highlighted the importance of this partnership, stating that it aligns with their shared objective of cultivating a resilient workforce in the maritime field, which is crucial for attracting talent and ensuring the industry’s future viability.
