Fincantieri has entered into a strategic partnership with Italian deep-tech firm WSense to develop advanced wireless technologies for underwater applications. This collaboration aims to enhance Fincantieri’s capabilities in subsea monitoring and protection systems, focusing on co-developing wireless communication solutions for environmental monitoring and infrastructure integrity.

The agreement will see WSense’s wireless technologies integrated into Fincantieri’s DEEP system, which is designed to monitor and safeguard critical underwater infrastructure. This integration minimizes reliance on physical cabling, addressing vulnerabilities in traditional subsea monitoring while enhancing resilience and deployment flexibility.

Additionally, the partnership will extend to civil infrastructure monitoring, including environmental observations and structural integrity assessments. This initiative represents a significant advancement toward scalable, data-driven subsea monitoring solutions applicable in defense, energy, and civil infrastructure sectors.
