ABS has awarded Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) a Product Design Assessment (PDA) certificate for its Condition-Based Maintenance System (SCBM). This system has achieved a SMART (MHM) Tier 2 PDA, confirming its compliance with the functional and system requirements outlined in the ABS Guide for Smart Functions for Marine Vessels and Offshore Units.

This certification underscores SCBM’s adherence to ABS’s rigorous standards for innovative maritime technologies, which aim to improve operations in critical areas such as machinery health monitoring, asset efficiency, operational performance, and crew support.

SCBM is a cutting-edge solution that utilizes real-time data and AI analysis for anomaly detection and machinery diagnostics, enhancing health state awareness and facilitating condition-based maintenance for vessel operations.
