The Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA), led by Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, recently visited Hatta to oversee and improve local development projects and licensed marine tourism activities. The delegation highlighted key sites such as ‘Wadi Lim Lake’ and ‘Hatta Kayak’ at Hatta Dam as significant tourism attractions in Dubai and the wider UAE. This visit aimed to enhance collaboration with Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director-General of Dubai Municipality, to strengthen marine and waterway management activities, ultimately improving the tourist experience in Hatta.
During the visit, Sheikh Saeed praised the collective efforts towards integrating Hatta into Dubai’s strategic development blueprint, as envisioned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The delegation emphasized the commitment to advancing marine services in partnership with relevant authorities, supporting operators in the sector. Sheikh Saeed highlighted the importance of maintaining peak safety and operational standards within Hatta’s waterways, emphasizing the need to adhere to updated directives outlined in Law No 3 of 2023.
The initiative showcased the dedication of the DMA to enhancing marine tourism in Hatta and reinforcing Dubai’s global tourism stature. By collaborating with key stakeholders and ensuring compliance with regulations, the DMA aims to elevate the overall experience for tourists visiting Hatta.
