Applications are now open for the 2026 IG Shipping Course, a two-week residential training program by shipbroker IFCHOR Galbraiths. Celebrating its sixth decade, the course has educated over 1,000 maritime professionals, catering to newcomers, those transitioning from sectors like finance and law, and seasoned experts looking to enhance their understanding of the global shipping landscape.
Scheduled for July 12-24 at Ashridge House in the UK, the course attracts a diverse mix of participants, including shipowners, charterers, financiers, traders, and analysts. This diversity fosters networking opportunities while allowing attendees to learn collaboratively from peers and faculty.
The program takes a holistic approach, examining the interplay between freight markets, chartering, vessel operations, contracts, asset values, and risk management in real-world scenarios. Participants engage in expert-led lectures, hands-on workshops, and case studies reflecting current market conditions.
Open to external participants, the IG Shipping Course is a standalone professional development opportunity, distinct from the firm’s internal Talent Programme. For more details and to apply, visit the program’s website: IG Shipping Course.
